Nigerian Music!

What is love? Baby don't hurt me.
I believed that every American was truly equal to one another, no matter the ethnicity. How wrong I was to believe it. I thought blacks were completely free, yet I am still not being treated as equally as my racial companions. It does not stop me however, even though my family and I are immigrants to this new world. I love this country, but it does take some breaking in.
Opportunity gone to waste?
I was promised something that has not happened. Perhaps it was wrong of me to think of America has a second heaven! I grew up without running water, or a soft bed to sleep on. I believed that America would have all of these! It was one of the reasons I came here...
One thing that HAS been delivered to me was safety, however. I no longer fear the death of my family from that oil drilling company back in Nigeria. I do hope my people are safe back home.

Smell ya' later!
I do miss my country after being forced to leave it. I'm even being pressured by my own family to send money back to support the rest of my Ogoni brethren. I do not know how I am going to accomplish it, however! I am still getting adapted to this new, strange country that was supposedly better for my family and I.

1 Inch at a Time!
There's no hope from the first impressions of America! How would you feel if your life got turned upside down, even after trying to get away from it? I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, and I'll tell you how I became the prince of bad air.
I wasn't always a bright person. I've grown up comfortably in Nigeria at first, until a U.S. oil drilling company got a permit to drill near my tribe's village. There were many protests about this, and violence soon broke out! The company's Private Military Company was too strong, and so executed a few of my fellow tribesmen and tribeswomen. After that, I knew I had to flee with my family, so we ran. We ran all the way to a refugee camp nearby, only to hear that we will be heading to America soon after. All in all, my life got turned upside down. Post a comment telling me another experience you have had that is somehow related to mine!
